Is animal conservation important?
I'm very much in favor of animal consrvation. I think our natural inheritance- millions of different species of plants and animals, should always be cherished by all humans. One of the most important reasons to protect our natural inheritance is biodiversity. According to scientific reports, the current wave of animal species extinctions is the most significant in human history.
One famous example is the extinction of American buffalos. There used to be thousands of buffalos living in this land. But people came to America and took killing wildlife for granted. Buffalos were killed for their hides and furs and they were slaughtered for food. After couples of years, one of the species that used to be seem safe from extinction became an endangered species.
Some people might say animal conservation will set us back a lot of money, and it's not worth spending an arm and leg protecting the endangered animals, as people always come first. Buf if we view the whole earth as a giant gene base, the more biodiversity the gene base is, the easier it is for us to maintain the balance of the human and our ecosystem. We will never know what might happen if humans destroy the balance of animals and earth. The ripple effec might occur, and all the species on earth could suffer from the danger of extinction.
In my opinion, I believe people are good-natured, if we gave people the correct information by letting people know the importance of biodiversity and animal conservation, everybody would love to protect the animals. Our kids and future generations can also enjoy the company of those adorable, affectionate animals.
